NIST’s AI RMF sets out a practical, outcomes-based approach to identify, assess, and manage risks from AI systems across their lifecycle, organised around four core functions: Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage. It is designed for organisations that design, develop, deploy, or use AI, and is supported by an evolving Playbook, Roadmap, and crosswalks to related standards. NIST released AI RMF 1.0 on 26 January 2023 and maintains a resource centre to facilitate implementation and international alignment.
