Judicial oversight of AI - The supervision exercised by courts to ensure that the deployment or use of AI systems complies with fundamental rights, the rule of law, and due process. International instruments emphasise that AI in judicial contexts must include ‘sufficient safeguards … to ensure a trustworthy, public interest-oriented and human-centric development and use of AI systems in the judiciary’. (UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI 2021 §63).
