Human oversight - A safeguard ensuring that AI systems are designed and operated so they ‘can be effectively overseen by natural persons’ in order ‘to prevent or minimise the risks to health, safety or fundamental rights’. It requires that human operators be able to understand, monitor, and, when necessary, ‘override or reverse the output’ of the system. (EU AI Act, Art. 14).
